Invitation to Submit Proposals
The Alden Street Foundation (ASF) encourages organizations to submit proposals for specific projects to be funded by the Foundation. Please attend to the guidelines below.
- Projects must contribute to advancing the mission of the Foundation.
- Grants are available for charitable 501(c)(3) organizations seeking support for projects. Requests from charity start-ups [prior to gaining 501(c)(3) status] will also be considered.
- Organizations should be based in Syracuse, NY or the Central New York area.
- ASF funding should address needs not being adequately met by other charitable organizations.
- Projects supported by ASF will ordinarily address problems of populations that are underserved or marginalized.
- ASF prefers to fund projects that emerge from a basis in spiritual or religious values carried into practice.
- Although ASF emerged from a progressive Christian Catholic church community, we encourage project proposals from organizations of other denominations and faith traditions that are likewise open to people of other backgrounds.
- In accord with ASF’s status as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, funded projects may not be political in orientation.

Please note that ASF accepts proposals on a rolling basis, not on a calendar schedule. Successful applicants will be expected to report in writing to ASF on the project’s implementation and outcomes.
